Summary

The Roofing Design Coordinator position will be responsible for project design coordination including but not limited to investigation, reporting, specification preparation, tendering, quality observation and liaising with clients, contractors and manufacturers.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of specifications and tender documents
  • Coordinate drafting and/or prepare drawings
  • Assist with roofing project administration
  • Estimating
  • Project scheduling
  • Coordination with clients regarding project deliverables
  • Preparation of Roof Condition Assessments
  • Preparation of Project Definition reports
  • Printing and filing of project documents
  • Assist with report template development
  • Coordination with various project coordinators/managers to deliver their requested work assignments

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Building Science and Structural Engineering departments, as requested, including:
    • Estimating
    • Project scheduling
    • Site reviews for obtaining design details
    • Field reviews during construction and preparation reports
    • Preparation of specifications and tender documents
    • Coordination with clients regarding project deliverables
    • Preparation of Building Science reports
    • Preparation of depreciation reports
    • Printing and filing of project documents
    • Coordination with various project coordinators/managers to deliver their requested work assignments

 Requirements & Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related or applicable field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the roofing industry (within a consulting environment is preferred)
  • Possession of one or more of the following designations is considered an asset: BArch., AScTech, DiplTech, RRO, PMP
  • Must have experience in roofing and knowledge of various roofing systems and design
  • General construction knowledge
  • Experience with AutoCAD and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written, oral and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Self-motivating and ability to multi-task while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to act with business integrity
