We work and live in your local communities and as a company, IRC feels a moral obligation to give back. We do this in dozens of ways, whether through our sustainable business and building practices or through employee initiatives.

Our signature annual project is our charity golf tournament.

CityKidz Annual Charity Golf Tournament

It is a great event with golf, dinner, refreshments and prizes for everyone who attends. Since 2004, IRC has raised over $1,100,000.00 for this worthy cause.

The Charity - CityKidz Hamilton

For over 15 years, CityKidz has been impacting the lives of children living in Hamilton's low-income neighbourhoods. They believe that every child, no matter their circumstance, deserves the opportunity to achieve greatness and fulfill their potential. Because of this, they are motivated to do all they can to transform the lives of children living in low-income neighbourhoods, break the cycle of hopelessness, and end child poverty.

The Charity - Food4Kids

Food4Kids provides packages of healthy food for kids aged 5-14 years with limited or no access to food each weekend. Packages of healthy food are prepared by volunteers and delivered to schools each Friday to ensure children have nourishment over the weekend. There are 1,500 children in Hamilton and 400 children in Halton struggling through each weekend without food. Food4Kids is the only regionalized weekend feeding program in Canada and is 100% funded through donations or one-time grants. Today, with help from comanies such as IRC Building Sciences Group, 1335 healthy food packages are distributed in 89 schools throughout Hamilton and Halton.

"We are embracing the opportunity to provide financial assistance for programs that tend to the needs of some really great kids."

Albert Duwyn, President, IRC Building Sciences Group
